The horse nodded at the request and gently turned - for such a mighty steed - towards the groom. He was tired, hungry and thirsty and he knew his rider was in good hands.
Maedhros eyed Elros warily, recognizing and not recognizing him. Flashes of a small Elfling danced before his eyes, mixing confusingly with the man Elros had become. What was real? He had to protect that child from the Silmaril!
"Don't touch it!" his voice was only a thread, desperate and hoarse, "Where?" he licked his lips, looking around at those gathered, "...Elros?"
Only two called him Nana and his heart sank.
"I've brought it to you?" the tears that fell down his cheeks could never be numbered, "Give me a new horse. I'll go." said the Elf who could not even seem to rise.
